Dr. Faouzi Gherboudj, a researcher at the Earthquake Engineering Center (CGS), represented the Center at the international scientific seminar titled "The 2026 GEM Conference: From Faults to Future Scenarios," held in Zagreb, Croatia, on June 23, 24, and 25, 2026.
Organized by the Global Earthquake Model Foundation (GEM, Pavia), the event brought together international experts in the fields of seismic hazard and risk. During the conference, Dr. Gherboudj delivered an oral presentation titled "Residual Analysis of Algerian Strong-Motion Data for GMPE Validation and Site-Effects Assessment," focusing on the analysis of residuals from Algerian strong-motion records for the purpose of validating Ground Motion Prediction Equations (GMPEs) and assessing site effects.
