Drs. Kadidja Abbes and Nassima Benkaci, researchers at the CGS, represented the Center at the ECEE 2026 conference—the "18th European Conference on Earthquake Engineering"—held in Berlin, Germany, from September 14 to 18, 2026.

They presented the following research work:

  1. Oral presentation (Nassima Benkaci) in session S10-02-GEE (Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering, SSI, and Site Response), titled:

"Evaluation of dynamic parameters of the stands at Nelson Mandela Stadium (Algiers) and comparison with soil layer fundamental frequencies using ambient vibration techniques."

  1. Poster (Khadidja Abbes) under the theme "Seismic Hazard and Seismology," titled:

"Ambient seismic noise tomography of Mitidja basin: preliminary analysis."

In addition, two other posters were displayed:

  • "Analyses of land surface temperature in relation with faults and lineaments using Landsat 8 in Hammam Melouane region" (author: Dr. Baya Nait Amara);
  • "GIS-Based Analysis of Seismicity and Tectonic Structures in Northern Algeria" (author: Dr. Sahra Aourari).

It is worth noting that the work presented is the result of research conducted by the four doctors. It focuses primarily on seismic hazard, seismology, and earthquake engineering.
