Active Participation of CGS in the 8th Arab Housing Conference
As part of the 8th Arab Housing Conference held in Algiers from December 17 to 19, 2024, the CGS, led by its Director, Dr. Bechtoula Hakim, played an active role through workshop leadership by its researchers and presentations of scientific papers.
- Dr. Laouami Nasser delivered a presentation titled "New Seismic Zonation Map and Elastic Response Spectra for Low and High Seismicity Regions in the New Version of the Algerian Seismic Code RPA 2024."
- Dr. Mezouar Nourredine chaired a workshop with rapporteurs Drs. Aknouche Hacene and Bencharif Raouf. He also delivered a presentation in Arabic on the microzonation of the city of Sidi Abdellah.
- Dr. Bencharif Raouf emphasized the importance of experimental research through his presentation titled "Advancing Earthquake Prevention: The Role of Experimental Research in Seismic Engineering."
- Dr. Boukri Mehdi chaired the workshop dedicated to "Sustainable Cities and Quality of Life."
These contributions highlighted and strengthened CGS’s visibility and expertise in seismic engineering and disaster prevention.
