Launch of the National Reinforcement Commission's Work

 The National Commission for Reinforcement Plans for Buildings and Infrastructure of Strategic and Heritage Value, established on November 30, 2025, by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Housing, Urban Planning, Cities, and Territorial Development, held its first meeting at the CGS headquarters on April 21, 2026.

Created by Executive Decree No. 25-60 of January 28, 2025, this Commission is responsible for defining the procedures for developing and implementing prioritized reinforcement plans aimed at preserving infrastructure and buildings of strategic or heritage value against disaster risks.

Composed of representatives from several ministries, the Commission is chaired by Dr. Hakim Bechtoula, Director of the CGS. Its secretariat is provided by Dr. Mehdi Boukri, Research Director at the CGS.
